As you may already be aware there has been a global outbreak of a coronavirus disease.

We would like to reassure all of our valued Yacaaba Centre clients that we are taking every measure possible to protect both our staff and clients from the threat of COVID-19. Yacaaba Centre is registered as a COVID safe business.

The Yacaaba Centre will continue its service to all our current and past clients and members of the community in need as best as we can in these challenging and rapidly changing circumstances!

We want to make sure everybody is safe and our counsellors will be offering phone and video sessions as an option for clients. We are still open for face to face counselling if this is your preference.

We are still open for hampers and counselling from Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 4.00pm. Where possible we ask if you could call prior so we can have it ready for you to pick up. Please ring the doorbell and take a step back and a staff member will be there shortly. It is important we keep a safe social distance of 2 metres.

We will keep you updated on any changes, please also check our Facebook page Yacaaba Centre

If you have any concerns please contact us on 4984 2176 or via email

Thank you for your understanding and take care of yourself.

The Yacaaba Centre is committed to supporting our staff, volunteers, students, clients and community members through this difficult time.  We have implemented a number of measures, including extra cleaning to help safeguard the centre against the spread of COVID-19.

COVID - 19 Prevention requirements

We require all staff, volunteers, students, clients and visitors to:

  • Be aware of the hotspots listed on the website Latest COVID-19 case locations in NSW and please follow the directives if you have been to a nominated place. Please ensure you have viewed the daily list before coming to the centre so that you won’t be disappointed.

  • Face masks are available to all staff, volunteers, students, clients and visitors

  • Avoid contact with others by ‘physical distancing’ – stay more than 1.5 metres away from each other whenever possible

  • Practise good hand hygiene: use hand sanitiser when you enter the premesis and use regularly through the day as well as hand washing

  • Wipe work place surfaces with disinfectant wipes before and after using equipment

Due to the current risk of infection from COVID-19 during this pandemic, staff, volunteers, students, clients and visitors must not come to the centre’s premesis if:

  • You or anyone you’ve been in close contact with has travelled to Victoria in the last 14 days

  • You or anyone you’ve been in close contact with has travelled overseas in the last 14 days

  • You’ve been in close contact in the last 14 days with someone who’s COVID-19 positive

  • You’re currently experiencing a fever, shortness of breath, or any flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat or fatigue

Anyone who don’t comply with these requirements will not be let enter the centre’s premesis or will be asked to leave to ensure the safety of all.
